BRIGADIER GENERAL OWUSU TRANSFERS COMMAND TO BRIGADIER GENERAL AYIMA

Brigadier General Barimah Brako Owusu has transferred Command and responsibilities of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College Junior Division (GAFCSC JD) to Brigadier General Kwasi Ayima as the new Assistant Commandant (ASCOM).

The colorful handing and taking over ceremony took place on Thursday, 15 May 2025, at the GAFCSC Ankrah Hall in Teshie.

In his farewell speech, Brigadier General Barimah Brako Owusu expressed his gratitude to the Almighty God for his 35 years of service to the Ghana Armed Forces and the country. He extended his appreciation to the Commandant for his trust, confidence, leadership, and guidance afforded him during his tenure.

Acknowledging the collective effort behind his success, he praised the commitments, dedications, and contributions of all staff in achieving his vision of ensuring a successful tenure.

Brig. Gen. Owusu expressed honor for his contribution to the noble mission and expressed confidence that the Junior Division remains in capable hands. He then pledged his commitment and continued support to the college and to his successor, Brigadier General Ayima, trusting that the Junior Division would reach greater heights under his leadership.

He urged students to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and excellence, emphasizing that the knowledge and skills acquired at the College would not only shape their careers but also strengthen the military institution.

In his remarks, the Commandant, Major General Matthew Essien lauded the outgoing JD ASCOM for his dedication, exemplary service, and leadership, noting that his contributions had significantly enhanced the operational effectiveness and Academic standards of the Junior Division.

He also congratulated the incoming ASCOM on his appointment, expressing confidence in his abilities to bring up fresh perspectives and uphold the values of discipline and excellence in the continuation of a legacy of leadership and service.
