GAFCSC AIR FACULTY VISITS AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI

A 29-man delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) Air Faculty, led by the Assistant Commandant (ASCOM), Air Commodore Thomas Nii Okai, visited the Air Force Base Takoradi (AFB TAK) from Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 March 2025. The delegation comprised a Chief Instructor, four Directing Staffs, and twenty-three student officers from the Air Faculty.

The purpose of the visit was to give the students a better understanding of Air Force Base operations, Air Traffic Control Management, and the Air Force's civil-military collaborations with its industrial partners.

The leader of the delegation, Air Cdre Thomas Nii Okai, and some faculty staff paid a courtesy call on the Base Commander, Air Cdre Kwabena Atiemo. This was to introduce the team formally and to harness the necessary formalities for the commencement of the visit.

The delegation was briefed on the operational, administrative, and logistics activities of AFB Takoradi. Other key stakeholders like Tullow Ghana Limited and Heliconia EAS Ghana also briefed the delegation on the role of the Air Force in their operational activities.

The visit culminated into a dinner at the Air Force Officers’ Mess hosted by the Base Commander to honor the delegation and bid them farewell. As a gesture of appreciation, the delegation presented a memento to the Base Commander.
