The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has officially opened the Senior Command and Staff Course 48 at Hamidu Hall on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
The course aims to develop the professional knowledge and understanding of participants, broaden their academic outlook and prepare them for higher responsibilities as middle level staff officers and commanders.
The Commandant of the College, Major General (Maj Gen) Jackson Wonje, in his speech, welcomed the students to the College and congratulated them on their selection to undertake the 44-week course. He urged them to take advantage of the academic and professional opportunities offered by the College, including the Master of Science programmes in Defence and International Politics and Master of Science in Security Studies, and stressed that the qualifications must be earned through dedication, hard work and discipline.
Maj Gen Wonje further urged the students to manage their time effectively, uphold integrity, self discipline and punctuality, and contribute meaningfully to discussions while respecting divergent views. He encouraged them to focus on becoming effective leaders rather than concentrating solely on grades, and urged them to build positive professional networks that would promote future collaboration and African integration, before declaring SCSC 48 officially opened.
