GAFCSC HOLDS JOINT GRADUATION RELIGIOUS PARADE
The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) as part of its 2025 graduation activities held a joint religious parade at the Hamidu Hall, Otu Barracks, on Sunday, 17 August 2025 for the Senior Command and Staff Course 46 (SCSC), Master of Science in Defence and International Politics (MDIP) and Master of Science in Security Studies (MSS).
Delivering the Islamic sermon, the Imam, Lieutenant (Ghana Navy) Mohammed Misbahu Saeed urged the graduating officers to live exemplary lives as moral leaders, stressing that leadership should be rooted in responsibility rather than status. He encouraged them to apply their reformed knowledge to avoid past mistakes and to positively influence the religious, social and economic lives of those they lead.
The Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Ebenezer Arthur, spoke on the theme “Called to Make a Difference.” He described military service as a vocation driven by sacrifice and devotion rather than material reward. He advised graduates to uphold standards, demonstrate professionalism, foster teamwork and lead with accountability, urging them to treat colleagues as partners rather than subordinates.
The Guest of Honour, Chief Executive Officer of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr Samuel Amo Tobbin, commended Acting Commandant, Brigadier General Jackson Wonje for placing spiritual reflection at the heart of the graduation ceremony. He described the parade as a fitting moment to thank God for His guidance throughout the rigorous academic journey.
Dr Tobbin reminded graduates that leadership extends beyond tactical and academic expertise to qualities of faith, character and service. He emphasised that true greatness is not measured by salutes but by selfless and compassionate service. He called on the graduating officers to let wisdom and respect guide their roles both locally and on international missions.
