
GAFCSC JUNIOR STAFF COURSE 82 GRADUATES
The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) held a graduation ceremony on Friday, 20 December 2024, at Hamidu Hall, Teshie to mark the completion of Junior Staff Course(JSC) 82. The graduates comprised 61 officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and 15 officers from allied countries.
The Guest of Honor, Major General (Maj Gen) Nii Carl Coleman (Rtd), expressed his appreciation to the Commandant of the College, Maj Gen Matthew Essien and his staff for the honor. In his speech, he emphasized that the graduation marked the end of 19 weeks of hard work and commitment, signifying an important milestone in the Graduates’ careers. He congratulated the participants on completing the course, which he believed would enhance their professional abilities and broaden their views on both national and international matters. He urged them to remain vigilant and proactive in preparing for future challenges. Additionally, he commended the allied students and their authorities for their participation and recognition of GAFCSC’s pivotal role in preparing them for the future.
For the first time in GAFCSC’s history, Graduates of JSC 82, received both Junior Staff Course Certificates and a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies. Captain Desmond Cyril Kludze of the Ghana Army was named the Overall Best Student and the Best Army Student, while Major Momodou Bah of the Gambia Armed Forces was adjudged the Best Allied Student.
Squadron Leader Cynthia Doreen Awusi-Nti of the Ghana Air Force received the Everard Award, with Lieutenant Commander Henry Nana Odei Ofori-Duodu recognized as the Best Navy Student. Squadron Leader Emmanuel Tettey Okan was awarded Best Air Force Student. Four other graduates also received prizes for the Best Assistant Commandant’s Research Paper Competition Awards and the Leadership Case Study Award.
The ceremony was graced with the presence of Director Generals from the General Headquarters, retired officers, members of academia, defense attachés, families, and friends of graduates.
