GAFCSC OPENS CCMC 1/2024

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has opened its Conflict and Crisis Management Course (CCMC) 1/2024 academic year for Senior Command and Staff Course 45 on Monday, 15 July 2024, at the Hamidu Hall, Teshie.

The course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of conflict and internal crisis management, enabling them to work more effectively, efficiently, cohesively.

The Guest of Honor and National Security Coordinator, Mr Edward Asomani, in his remarks applauded the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and GAFCSC for positioning itself as leading institutions offering courses and modules that bring together personnel from key national institutions to foster synergy, urgently needed for national security and development. He expressed delight in being a key stakeholder in national security, sponsoring this year's program. He also appreciated the Commandant GAFCSC, Major General Matthew Essien for honouring him as the Guest of Honor.

Mr Edward Asomani emphasized the importance of involving participants from other security services, media houses, and the private sector across the country in building cohesion and purpose between GAF and other institutions, vital for national growth and development.

Mr Asomani reminded participants of their service as middle-level managers, and the crucial link they create between policymakers and beneficiaries of policy decisions. He stressed that in-depth knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are indispensable in the effective management of conflict and crisis.

The National Security Coordinator cautioned that poorly managed conflict and crisis threatens the security of existence, and participants should ensure that core objectives are firmly embedded in their minds as they progress. He added that this will enhance the country's capabilities in conflict and crisis management, minimizing loss of lives and property.

The Guest of Honour urged participants to bring their rich experiences to bear during simulation exercises, engage meaningfully to enhance and deepen their knowledge for the benefit of their respective countries. He encouraged them to build networks and professional connections that will become valuable resources in times of conflict and crisis.
