The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC) 47, embarked on an educational study tour to Zambia from Monday, 10 May to Friday, 15 May 2026.
The study tour, dubbed "Africa's Defence Industrial Base: Constraints and Progress," aimed to assess Zambia's Defence industrial development.

The GAFCSC delegation comprised four (4) Senior Staff members, four (4) Directing Staff (DS), and eighteen students of SCSC, together with the incoming Zambia Defence Attaché (DA) to Ghana. The team was led by the GAFCSC Deputy Commandant, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) George Kwamena Tawiah Sam.

The team paid courtesy calls on the Zambia Ministry of Defence, Army Headquarters, Air Force Headquarters, and Zambia National Service (ZNS) Headquarters, where they received a joint briefing on the theme from representatives. The team embarked on an extensive tour to the ZNS Chongwe Milling Plant, the ZNS Farms, Siavonga, Kariba Dam and Livingstone.


The team, led by the Deputy Commandant, Bri Gen Sam paid a courtesy call on Ghana's High Commissioner to Zambia, Her Excellency Elizabeth Nyantakyi, at her office. He then briefed her on the conduct, key findings, and experiences of the tour. He later presented souvenirs to Her Excellency as a symbol of appreciation for her support to the team.


The team returned to Ghana on Friday 15 May, 2026.
